A young boy goes on a very special fishing trip with his dad and learns why his dad wakes up early every morning to fish at a small pond, not for recreation but for food use like how he used to with his brother back in Vietnam. It is then that he learned of another life they used to live in their homeland and how far they have come to search for a better life and how his family tries to preserve their culture and memories.
